Other ramblings..

'Bizzy iZZiE' is what some  playfully call our electronica queen since her lust for creating music is just the beginning of her very tangly web of daily life. 'Boring shit' is how she refers to everyday, hum-drum activities in 'The White Line' ('The Push' album) - and clearly she avoids them like the plague.

VQSnewmusic.tv is her other baby- a widely downloaded, free, weekly, worldwide podshow promoting other artists' vibrant new original music  from all over the world, smoothly encompassing all popular genres, of which she is host and head producer.

She is, she freely admits, the control freak that she speaks of in her first single of 2010 and to prove the point, also engineers all of her work.

She builds and maintains various websites, including this one, and the one belonging to the Master of her other major passion, her martial arts. iZZiE's interest lies with most of the Arts.  Primarily a student of and Instructor in Wado Ryu based Kickboxing (Full Contact Karate) , she has also been studying Saiminjutsu for a few years (the slightly mysterious and weirdy Ninjutsu power of directing the mind), and occasionally deflects to Ninjutsu in the privacy of her own home.

Dancing, she says, has given her a head start in kickboxing, having a long childhood history of stage performing as an all rounder in ballet, tap and contemporary dance and was entered for admission to The Northern Ballet but failed because she couldn't be bothered to practice

- and that, she says, was the beginning of her turning  into a cocky lazy, teenage tearaway.

One reviewer from a  heavy metal magazine (yes, you wonder why he would be reviewing Electronica) pointed out bitterly that "You just know that Izzie is actually middle class Ysabel (and, trust me, that’s got to be the spelling) from Kingston-upon-Thames who has all the advantages a really wealthy upbringing can give you)"... Actually, if you turned all that completely on it's head it would be closer to the truth.

So smokes and beer and  'some other unholy crap' took over for a while and college came and went with Sound and Theatre Technology and Art and Psychology - and a merchandise career unfolded  while still attending, in the shape of her own business, which gave rise to some truly spectacular hand painted leather jackets appearing on the alternative scene and to a  snatch at TV props making.

But music was her constant - and suddenly on a  whim, after astounding feedback from a  handful of songs written and 'mashed together somehow on some kind of untechnical technology', she put the whole lot in the cupboard to write music.

iZZiE won't talk about politics.  She won't talk religion because "it's inane complexities and ironic stupid consequences" infuriate her "almost to the point of murder".

"If I had  to be religious, I'd be Buddhist, but I don't, so that's an end to it". The fact that she has been vegetarian for almost as long as she can remember is half way towards that.  And so she writes about 'emotions and how they can twist an individual one way and then another at the drop of a hat'.

But you sense there is a secret spirituality burning inside and although she claims she 'sits on the fence' where things like the afterlife and telepathy are concerned, we're not too sure if we believe that, and she says with a smirk ' If you prod me, I'm quite likely to fall off'.
